Sparc 4K LED TV Philippines Review: Reasons to NOT buy it!

This is a very short review of the unknown Sparc LED TV. I owned one (I bought it from Lazada last December 2016), and now it’s broken. There are no Sparc service centers the in Metro Manila and the whole Philippines, not even China, where it was made. You only have 7 days to return it to Lazada it case it’s not working anymore. So after 7 days, there’s no way to replace your super cheap TV.

A lot bought this TV from Lazada a month ago. Even my friends was lured to buy it because it’s unbelievably cheap. It’s like a disposable TV, for 5,999, you’ll get a 32″ LED TV and for only 19,999, you can buy the Sparc 55″ 4K LED TV! It’s insanely cheap right? 55″ 4K TVs are priced around 70,000 to 200,000 pesos. Too good to be true? You can actually buy one here. It’s for real and it’s insanely cheap.

  • BryanVeloso.com is now Mobile Friendly and AMPed!

Yes, you read it right! This blog is now 100% mobile friendly. Let’s just wait for Google to automatically crawl this blog and let the majestic bots notice that I’m now mobile friendly. And oh, this blog is also AMPed! It loads on mobile really fast, like, so fast, you can’t even blink your eyes!

Last June, I posted that my blog is not mobile friendly. And just today, I posted that I installed the AMP plugin. And now, I’m blogging again because I feel like I need to blog, even though nobody reads this blog, except for Cora’s fans your read my posts about Cora. But that’s it, and nothing more.

Should I post more about Cora? I think it’s enough, and I don’t want to divulge any more dark secrets between me and her. I’m just happy that she’s quite famous now and she’s living her dreams as a celebrity and model.

Happy holidays everyone! Will post another blog post if I’m in the mood to post.

  • PayPal automatically converts USD to your local currency starting November 2016

If you’re surprised that you suddenly received Pesos (or your local currency) for PayPal funds that you usually receive in US dollars, then don’t be. Because just recently, this month, PayPal automatically converts USD to your local currency. It’s their “new feature”.

Don’t be pissed off if you are expecting US dollars from your friends and family, then you receive it in PHP. Because that’s how it works. However, you can still receive your funds in USD, if you ask your friends/family to send funds using the Goods and Services method (even if you didn’t sell or rendered any service to your friends. Haha). In this way, you can still receive US dollars, with a fee.

Too bad, everything now is with a fee. PayPal is awesome! So let’s not complain for this change, because it’s inevitable.

  • Bomb Explosion in Roxas Night Market, Davao City, September 2, 2016!

Bomb Explosion in Roxas Night Market, Davao City, September 2, 2016!

    bombindavao-sept2016
Yes, that’s today. There’s a sudden explosion here in Davao City. I thought it’s just thunder even it’s not raining, but it’s actually a bomb. I’m inside Marco Polo 5th floor when it happened. I didn’t see the explosion, but I see a lot of people along Roxas. The explosion happened at exactly 10:18 PM local time (GMT+8) according to the Marco Polo staff I’m talking with right now. I wasn’t able to take a video, but will share it in this blog once I found one online. Be safe everyone. Photo above by @jboygonzalessj of Twitter.com. Coraleen Waddell is now video blogging!

    corawaddel-youtube
Yep, she’s now into video blogging. My number one crush in the world is now video blogging. Subscribe to her channel now at youtube.com/channel/UCAMlaS8ELTqpQDrt46PdKJg. She now has 16,574 subscribers as of August 6, 2016, with more than 100k YouTube views in her 3 videos. Latest video was uploaded yesterday. Her vlog is fun to watch, even if she’s just talking about random stuff that you might not be interested, anyway I’m interested in all that she does. Even if she just eats, or sleeps, or just babbling random things about make-up. I just love her, and I know you will too!

    BryanVeloso.com is not mobile friendly

Yes, that’s right. My website is not mobile friendly and I’ll be switching to a responsive theme very soon. I just love this theme because it’s simple and, not mobile friendly. I was just alarmed, because when I searched for my blog in Google.com, I saw a “Your page is not mobile-friendly.” link right under my URL bryanveloso.com. Alarming isn’t it?

Happyfresh Philippines doesn’t guarantee 1 hour delivery

I tried ordering today at happyfresh.ph, hoping that they will live to its promise of delivering your groceries within an hour, but I was disappointed with their service. It’s actually a lie. If you’re expecting your groceries to be delivered within an hour or within 2 hours, then you’ll be disappointed, just like me. They will not and cannot deliver it within an hour, I assure you. I selected the time 1-2PM after ordering at 12 noon. Surprise surprise, 2PM already passed, and the groceries are still not delivered. After refreshing their website several times, the status of my order is “Shopper has started selecting your items 19/05/2016 – 12:42PM”. They just started selecting and will deliver it in my area for 5-10minutes or less? I doubt it will arrive that fast, even if there’s no traffic, it’s literally impossible, unless the grocery shop is just 10 steps away from home.

  • Globe *143# not working, GCASH, buy load and AMEX not available

Globe *143# not working, GCASH, buy load and AMEX not available

Just recently, around April 28, 2016, AMEX, GCASH and Buy a load via *143# is remove. All you can see when you dial it is this.

    Globe-*143#-menu

I thought it’s gone forever, even though it’s only the reason why most of the people are dialling *143#. Their customer support doesn’t have even a clue that it’s gone. They are just stuttering and saying.. “Aaah.. sir.. Ah ok sir. My apologies sir that you cannot find the GCASH options in *143#.” So I think it’s gone forever.

Good thing, after 2 days of the unannounced maintenance, they sent a mass SMS saying:
“Dear Gcash customer, our system activity is taking longer than expected. We’re very sorry for the inconvenience. Rest assured we’ll let you know as soon as Buy Load to all networks and Cash-in from BP via the Gcash app, and Load to Gcash and Gcash American Express registrations, renewals and PIN generation in all channels are available again. Thank you for your understanding.”

Right now, I advice everyone—specially those who are using the AMEX virtual card—to avoid using your AMEX card via Paypal, as it will most probably get rejected/denied but your GCASH account will still be charged. Refunding process by GCASH AMEX will usually take 3-6 months, probably never. As they are having a hard time tracing this kind of issue. I’ve been charged twice already for a Paypal denied transaction using my GCASH AMEX card last February 2016 and March 2016, and until now, those charged are still not refunded. Anyway, it’s just a small amount of below P10,000 pesos, so I assume they really don’t care that much for small time customers like me.
