    Comfoods Million Peso Scam by Gary Huang and Family

    comfoods-garyhuang
    I just recently heard about this in various social media channels and GMA news last April 21, 2016. According to the CEO of Commonwealth Foods Incorporated, Gary Huang, Margarita Huang, and family are not connected with Comfoods for a very long time.

    The victims of the lending scam reported this incident to the NBI just recently after the checks issued to them by Gary Huang was returned to them. The Huang family are currently under investigation, and cannot be found anywhere in the Philippines.

  • Paypal Online Dashboard Revamped this 2016

    Paypal Online Dashboard Revamped this 2016

    After logging in to Paypal today, I was surprised with the new dashboard design. It now looks modern, but slightly confusing as I’m using to the old design. It’s basically really neat and ergonomic. I somewhat remember the transition from Magento 1.9 to Magento 2.0 admin UI. Now, I just need to get used to it. I’m still not very familiar with the new user interface, as you know, it’s really new. Just today! I logged in yesterday, and I can clearly remember that they are still using the old UI yesterday. But now, it’s entirely new! Check it out in my screenshot below.

    There’s a lot to like about the new design. One thing I like is that they put all your personal settings in one page. In the old version of the dashboard, you need to hover the profile link to see all the stuff that you can edit under your profile, like e-mail, bank account, credit card, and street address.

    Now you just need to click on the “Gear” sign, which obviously represents your account settings. After clicking it, you’ll see all your personal details in one place. Now you can add and edit what you need to add and edit. I think there are more features in the new dashboard that I have yet to find out.

    How about you? Do you love the new Paypal dashboard UI?

  • 50MBPS in the Philippines is now more affordable

    50MBPS in the Philippines is now more affordable

    skybroadband-nowcheaper.jpg

    If you haven’t heard the news yet, Sky Broadband lowered down their price from around 10k per month, to 2,899/month for their 50MBPS Ultra High Speed Internet. That is actually incredibly cheap.

    Their 200mbps and 100mbps plans are no longer featured in their website, but I guess it’s still available. They only have 3 plans now, the 3MBPS plan for 999/month, 16MBPS plan for 1,999/months and 50mbps for only 2,899/month.

    If I remember it right, their 200MBPS plan costs around 35k, and 100MBPS around half that price. So before this huge price drop, their 50MBPS plan was around 9k – 10k/month. I just can’t remember the exact price.

    They still do offer a consumable plan of 10MBPS for 1,299.00. But I assume they will be discontinuing it soon as they are now offering a much better 16MBPS for 1,999.00 and its bandwidth is unlimited.

    There are no news yet whether they will still continue to offer the Consumable plans or other internet plans that is not including in the current 3 plans they are offering right now in the near future.

    UPDATE: Due to my curiousity, I checked mysky.com.ph via wayback machine, I found the old prices!

    3MBPS = 999/month
    10MBPS – 3999/month
    16MBPS = 4999/month
    24MBPS = 6499/month
    55MBPS = 9499/month
    200MBPS = 34999/month
    112MBPS = 19999/month

    So now, it’s dead cheap. They just reduced the price of 50MBPS around 60%! Thank you Sky Broadband!

  • Bitcoin price reached $500 and will probably reach $700 by this month

    Well as you may have noticed, I’m closely monitoring Bitcoin’s price almost every hour minute now. Because I just invested half of my life savings a few months ago when the Bitcoin’s price was around $200. Now it’s at $500.00 and I’m very glad I did. I hope it will quadruple my money by end of 2015. I have a very good feeling that the price will still go up as of writing this post. Its 24-hour high is at $519.39 and it opened today at $409.00.

    Still, there are risks, but we risk our lives everyday going to work, eating something from a restaurant, travelling to and from home, and everyday we always do different subtle risks. This one is less riskier I presume.

    Will post more updates regarding the 2015 bitcoin fever!

    Kickass Malware: A site that contains harmful programs according to Google

    kickass-blocked
    Just today, after visiting my favorite Torrent site Kickass via kat.cr and kickass.to, Chrome showed me a warning that the site contains harmful programs. I doubt that it contains any harmful programs and I understand the risk, so I went ahead and clicked “Details” then continued browsing the site. After I’m redirect to the Kickass Torrents site, nothing is really harmful inside, and no unwanted software was installed or pop up popped in my screen. Rest assured that Kickass is still safe to browse, to be scared that much.

    Infolinks new website design launched today!

    infolinks-new-website-july-2015
    If you’ve noticed, Infolinks recently launched their new website today! It now looks more ergonomic, cleaner, and of course, better than the old one. However, the user dashboard when you login is still old. I think they will also be revamping the user dashboard (or the Publisher Center as they call it) soon to complement with the new site’s design and color scheme. And look! It’s mobile responsive (just visit their website at infolinks.com and resize your web browser to see).
